Gardens are fun any time of year. Whether you're in full gardening swing or you're wishing that you could be outside, making a fun vegetable "salsa" design will accent an apron, kitchen towel or table runner. Plus learn about the Endless function in your 3D Studio or 4DTM Embroidery / 4DTM Embroidery Extra.

Go to the Shapes page and find the Home 1 group. Change the size to 30 mm and make sure the Multiple box is checked.

Tip: Multiple allows you to place more than one design at a time on the screen while you are on the Shapes page.

Bring in one tomato (Row 3, Column 2), onion (Row 3, Column 3) and set of peppers (Row 4, Column 1). Return to the Design page.Vegetables

Arrange your vegetables so they are grouped in the center of your hoop. Rotate your designs as necessary. As you move your designs around the hoop, notice how they overlap. The order that you bring your designs to the screen is the order they will stitch out and overlap.

Tip: If you want a design to stitch on top of another design and they were not brought in the proper order, use the Cut function. Click on the design. Click Cut Cut icon. The design is placed on the clipboard and removed from the screen. Now Paste Paste icon the design back in. Your pasted design is the last design brought in and will stitch last, overlapping the other designs.

In this case, the onion is to be stitched last and it was the second design brought in. Cut the onion, then paste it back on the screen. It will now stitch last.

Tip: Don’t forget the Tab key on your keyboard to move easily between designs!

Click on the Endless Endless icon icon. The designs will be Combined and ColorSorted automatically while using the Endless function.

Endless dialog

The settings on the Endless window help you make your basic design endless.

Set the beginning and ending markers. This is done by determining how you will move your fabric in the hoop.

Tip: Think about the orientation of the hoop. Literally place your hoop on a table, replicating how it looks on the screen. Move your fabric in the direction you determined above. This allows you to see how to move your project as you sew.

Change the fabric direction and click the Preview button to see what happens to your start and end markers.

There are 4 different End Markers to choose from.Help File

The corner marker is one of the most useful markers. Because this is a "L" shape, you can see if you have hooped both directions correctly. Use the Help system to see information on all the different types of markers. (Click the Help button in the Endless Embroidery window, or type "Endless" as the keyword in Help, Search.)

If you are using an Endless hoop, you only need one set of Marker Positions. If you do not have an Endless hoop, choose Both Marker Positions for optimum placement.

Change the Gap to negative if you want the designs closer together or positive to place them farther apart. The program will put the appropriate number of designs in the hoop for all of your settings.

Repeat Embroidery, ColorSort and Remove Overlap (only in 4DTM) are recommended for most designs. Repeat Embroidery puts the appropriate number of designs in your chosen hoop. Take the check away from Repeat Embroidery if you want alignment Markers on a single design.

The Remove Overlap in the 4DTM Embroidery System prevents areas of stitches from building up when designs overlap. Be careful in the 3D system. If your design is very dense, adjust your design so less of the design overlaps.

Endless is a great way to have some fun with designs. Any design can become endless by using the Endless function in your Husqvarna Viking 3D or 4DTM embroidery software.
