When you're working with designs and adjust colors, it is very easy to use the intelligent ColorSort ColorSort icon. This function is great because it will not only merge the same colors together (they must be the same thread brand and number) but it keeps the overlap of the design. This means that if you have one leaf behind a flower and another leaf of the same color on top, the colors won’t be merged.

What if you want that to happen? Or what if you want to merge two different colors? Change Order of Color Blocks Change Order of Color Blocks icon is what you want to use.Sailboat

Open 3DTM or 4DTM Embroidery Extra (this icon is also found in 3DTM and 4DTM Stitch Editor).

Search Search icon for "sail" in either 4DEmbroidery/Samples or 3DEmbroidery/Samples. Load SailBoat2 and then close the Design Search window.

Move your mouse over the dark gray (second color from the bottom) and see where the color and stitches are in the design. We want the front sail to overlap the railing rather than being behind (so it looks like the wind is coming from another direction).Modify Area

Go to the Edit tab. Click on Change Order of Color Blocks. We want to move color 7 (dark gray) above color 4 (the color of the front sail).Move Color 7

Click on color 7. Click the Move Up button until number 7 is above 4. Click OK and see how the sail is now overlapping the rail.

Tip: Go back to the Design Tab to see this in 3D!

Now let's say we want both sails to be the same color. There is no need to change the color of one sail. Simply choose to merge the colors together.Merge Color 5

On the Edit Tab, click on Change Order of Color Blocks Change Order of Color Blocks icon. You want to merge color 5 and 6 together. Click on color 5. Notice the two color bars under the Merge Colors button. These will be the two colors that will be merged together. Click Merge Colors and colors 5 and 6 are now one!

Tip: If you have colors you want to merge but they are not next to one another in the color chart, move the colors up or down until they are beside each other.

The Change Order of Color Blocks is a great tool to help you with your color choices and overlap in your designs!

Now let’s take a quick look at something completely different!QuiltDesignCreator

Inspira® has come out with a new software program that helps you create quilting designs that you can use with your quilt robot or embroidery machine! This product is completely separate from your 3DTM or 4DTM system you own today. It is called Inspira® 4DTM QuiltDesign Creator.

Check it out on www.4dquiltdesign.com or visit your local Husqvarna Viking dealer for more information.
