Thread Effects allows you to preview your embroidery design as if you were stitching it using a Twin Needle or two colors of thread. Found in the 4D^TM or 5D^TM Vision module, the Thread Effects will assist you when planning your embroideries, without having to test sew them over and over. The Thread Effects feature has two different options, Twin Needle & Dual Thread. Both result in a different look for your embroidery.

Twin Needle - Best used with outline designs (Quilting). Select the color change within the embroidery then select the size of Twin Needle (1.6mm up to 8.0mm). Using this information, the embroidery will be displayed on your computer as if you had stitched it using the specific twin needle. Save the embroidery and the Notes area will include information regarding which twin needle you planned to sew with.

Dual Thread - Used for blending (hair, water or even large fill areas to add visual texture), Select a color change within an embroidery where you want to stitch with two threads at the same time (YES, this is possible!). This function allows you to pick a second color which will be blended with the original color. The resulting "blend" will be displayed on screen. You can decide if you like it or need to keep trying different color combinations. Save the combination you like and the additional color will be listed when you print the embroidery design template.

The Thread Effects feature will not only save you time and money by preventing you from stitching something that just doesn’t look right, it will add more interest and life to your existing embroideries!

5D^TM Organizer is not just for sending your embroidery designs to your sewing machine or USB Embroidery Stick; it has many more handy features. With the latest update (version 9.2 or higher) you can not only work with embroidery designs and images. You can also manage your Quilting Design files - 4QB files (files created in 4D^TM QBOT, 4D^TM QuiltDesign Creator software or the Draw Window in 5D^TM Design Creator).

In addition to organizing your design files or searching for lost or misplaced files, it has some very handy converting tools. Once you have located Embroidery file(s) you have the ability to:

• Convert it to another embroidery format. Example - from .ART to VP3. FYI, When you convert embroideries into the VIP/VP3 format you also have the ability to add "notes" which makes searching for an embroidery much easier, particularly when you use the included list of keywords.
• Convert Thread Range. Example - embroideries originally created with Sulky thread can be converted to the same shades of thread from the Robison-Anton collection. This way you are not spending your time picking colors and can get to sewing your project faster.
• Add Trim Commands - update older embroidery designs so that your embroidery machine will trim the jumps for you (if your machine has this functionality).
• Convert to Pictures - Allows you to create an image of your selected embroidery so that you can do other things with it. Insert it into a document if writing instructions, create a screen saver of your embroidery designs or even place it on your desktop as your main image

These are just some of our favorite features in the 5D^TM Organizer module, there are many more. The 4D^TM Organizer (version 8.1 or higher) has the ability to search, sort, and convert as mentioned above but may not recognize all of the same formats as the 5D^TM version. For everyone who has upgraded to the NEW Husqvarna Viking® 5D^TM Professional system you may have noticed that Fabric Decorator is missing, or is it? The functionality of Fabric Decorator has now been included in the 5D^TM Design Creator module - specifically in the NEW Draw Window.

Click the Draw Tab to see where you can create your own Motifs and Export them to your "My Motifs" database. Once exported, you will have access to them in many different locations, including the Motif Tab in 5D^TM Embroidery Extra and 5D^TM Sketch, or as a stitch type in the Create Window in 5D^TM Design Creator. Design it once and use it everywhere!

There are many drawing tools available in the Draw Window. Not only can you create Motifs; you can also create 4QB files. These files are specific artwork files which can be used on some automated quilting systems. In addition to our unique artwork file (.4QB) you can use other high end image formats known as Vector Images on the Draw Tab. These files include the Encapsulated PostScript = .eps files (5D^TM version 9.2 or higher). Vector images are very clean artwork files that can be adjusted easily resulting in designs that sew very smoothly.

Whatever image file you start with, the 5D^TM Design Creator can create images, motifs, designs or embroideries to suit your project needs. Spend less time creating, editing or tweaking and more time having fun stitching your project.
