We all love something new, whether it’s a new hat, new shoes, or new features in our embroidery software! 5D™ Embroidery System’s free Update 2011 (version 9.3, available through Smart Update in 5D™ Configure) just brought us lots of electrifying new tools for creating embroidery designs!
5D™ Embroidery System has multiple new features in the free Update 2011. In the 5D™ Embroidery or 5D™ Embroidery Extra modules, an additional toolbar holds two new icons, the Learning Center and the Purchase Center.
Ensure your Internet connection is working, then click on the Learning Center icon to directly access video tutorials that illustrate numerous options in the 5D™ Embroidery System. In the 5D™ Learning Center, the newest video tutorials are at the top of the list, and various additional links offer quick access to other valuable information.
If you haven’t recently spent a little time browsing the lessons in the 4D™ or 5D™ Learning Centers, click on any of the Learning Center menus and settle in with your favorite summer cooler as you learn many tips and hints. New tutorials in 5D™ Learning Center include working with new SuperFonts, and how to insert INSPIRA® Cutwork Needle support in your favorite cutwork embroidery designs!

(Revue Patchwork CrossHatch, Revue 2C Spiral Fill, and Revue 2C Motif Fill). Simply select one of the fonts,
click the Free to Download icon, 
, and step through the 5D™ Purchase Center Wizard to complete the process
and activate your dongle for the new SuperFonts!
While you’re there, you can check out some of the additional SuperFont and MiniDesign sets available in the 5D Purchase Center. Animal Magic is sure to be a hit among the younger set, or with the young at heart! Emboss your initials in a custom-quilted bag with the Inform QuiltStipple Fill lettering.
If you have 5D™ Embroidery Extra or 5D™ Professional you can convert the new SuperFonts to different types of fills, motif stitches, or adjust Continuous Column Satin properties, according to how the font was made.
Create your words in the Letter tab of 5D™ Embroidery Extra. Right click inside the lettering’s select box to open a pop-up menu. Menu options include Properties, plus additional menus** for converting fill or motif types, or adjusting Satin Continuous Column properties such as density, compensation, pattern, or adding underlay.
Many of the SuperFonts are great for monogramming, too.
The new SuperFonts and MiniDesigns are Super Fun! Try them out and make something super-special for all your family and friends.
4D™ Embroidery or 4D™ Embroidery Extra have many elements available for designing in the Shapes tab, including buttonholes, corners, hearts, flowers, and much more.
Shapes became MiniDesigns in the Motif Tab of 5D™ Embroidery or 5D™ Embroidery Extra.
Check out the Motif Tab in 5D™ Embroidery or 5D™ Embroidery Extra, and see ChildStyle 1, a new MiniDesign set, installed automatically in the free Update 2011! Nine Continuous Satin elements with Conversion features** such as 12 pattern textures offer quick, cute designs for children’s clothing, bibs, or quilts!
All elements in MiniDesigns are scalable with adjustable stitch density. Three more ChildStyle MiniDesign sets are available in the 5D™ Purchase Center as well!
Frames are available in 4D™ ExpressMonogram Wizard, and in 5D™ Embroidery or 5D™ Embroidery Extra. Some 5D™ Embroidery Frames have undergone a facelift in the 9.3 update. Candlewick Frames now offer Conversion features **, and may utilize any of the decorative motif stitches available in the 5D™ Embroidery System. The Decorative1 Frames are also convertible to different types of Specialty Fills!
And, did you know? Conversion features for Fonts and Frames appear in all modules where those features are available, such as 5D™ ExpressMonogram Wizard or 5D™ Family Tree.
